Stole Care Instructions
Follow these instructions to protect the fabric, embroidery, printed panels, applique, trims and tassels of your Designer Stoles garment.
1. General Care
Liturgical stoles should be handled with clean, dry hands and stored away from moisture, direct sunlight, smoke, perfume and excessive heat.
Avoid pulling tassels, embroidered sections, applique, trims or decorative elements.
2. Before Cleaning
Check the materials and any care label supplied with the stole. Decorative stitching, metallic thread, printed panels, applique, interfacing and mixed fabrics may require specialist handling.
3. Spot Cleaning
- Blot spills immediately with a clean white cloth; do not rub.
- Test any cleaning method on a hidden area first.
- Use minimal moisture.
- Avoid bleach, harsh stain removers, solvents and coloured cloths that may transfer dye.
- Do not saturate embroidery, printed panels or bonded layers.
4. Washing
Do not machine-wash or tumble-dry unless the specific care label expressly permits it.
Where gentle hand washing is approved for the particular stole, use cool water, a mild detergent and minimal agitation. Do not wring or twist. Support the full weight of the wet stole and dry it flat in the shade.
5. Ironing and Steaming
- Use the lowest suitable temperature.
- Place a clean pressing cloth between the iron and the stole.
- Iron from the reverse where practical.
- Avoid direct heat on prints, vinyl, metallic thread, applique, embroidery and tassels.
- Do not allow a steamer or iron to drip water onto the garment.
6. Storage
Store the stole flat or on a broad, padded hanger that supports the fabric without creating sharp folds. Use a breathable garment cover rather than sealed plastic for long-term storage.
Keep the stole fully dry before storage and avoid folding across raised decorative areas.
7. Transport
For travel, roll or loosely fold the stole with clean acid-free tissue or a soft cloth between decorated surfaces. Do not place heavy objects on top of it.
8. Tassels and Decorative Elements
Gently arrange tassels by hand. Do not comb aggressively, pull knots or expose tassels to direct high heat. Loose threads should not be cut without first checking whether they secure embroidery or trim.
9. Repairs
Contact Amanda before attempting repairs to embroidery, applique, printed panels, seams or tassels. Unauthorised alteration may make restoration more difficult and may affect a defect assessment.
10. Damage Caused by Incorrect Care
Damage caused by washing, bleaching, excessive heat, unsuitable chemicals, alteration, rough handling or storage contrary to these instructions may not constitute a product defect.
Statutory rights relating to genuine defects remain unaffected.
11. Care Assistance
Send the item number and a clear photograph to Amanda before cleaning where the fabric or decoration is uncertain.
